As the premier foreign policy organization in the United States, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) plays a leading role in contributing to the intellectual momentum that is needed to address a broad spectrum of current and emerging issues. As 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, CFR receives charitable contributions from a variety of private sources, including its members, corporations, and foundations. Unrestricted gifts to the Council are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and help ensure the organization’s independence and nonpartisanship. The Council does not receive any funding from U.S. or foreign governments.
