Laurene Powell Jobs is founder and president of Emerson Collective, a social change organization that uses philanthropy, impact investing, advocacy, and community activation to remove barriers to opportunity. Based in Palo Alto with strong presence in Oakland, Chicago, and Washington, DC, Emerson Collective focuses on education, immigration reform, the environment, and health. Powell Jobs serves as board chair of the XQ Institute, an organization inspiring America to rethink high school education, and of College Track, a college completion program she co-founded in 1997 to combat the alarming achievement gap among students of color. She also serves on the boards of Anonymous Content, Chicago CRED, and the Board of Trustees at Stanford University. She is co-owner of the Atlantic and an investor in Monumental Sports & Entertainment. Powell Jobs earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and economics at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. She is based in Palo Alto, CA.
