The Maurice R. Greenberg Chair was established by a grant from the Starr Foundation. CFR named this chair for its honorary vice chairman, Maurice R. Greenberg, as a tribute to his many contributions to CFR and his long association with China.

The Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies at CFR works to promote a better understanding among policymakers, academic specialists, and the interested public of how economic and political forces interact to influence world affairs.
